Makeup removal is a tedious task. But an important one to say the least. For a healthy, glowing and nourished skin, this is a vital step which one shouldn’t skip come what may. And believe me, when the skin is properly cleansed, toned and moisturized it feels great ?
In today’s post I shall be discussing all the steps I take to take my makeup off. I get tons of messages to discuss the said topic. So here we go ?
CLEANSING
My first step is to cleanse my face. To do that I start off with an oil cleanser. Currently I am using the Rice Water Bright light cleansing oil from the FACE SHOP.
This is a very light facial cleansing oil which is very light weight. It does a good job in dissolving all the makeup on the face, including eyes and lips too. It is non irritating and is used on dry face to melt heavy makeup off the face, after which the face can be washed off with either lukewarm water or a foamy cleanser. It has plant based ingredients like Rice Bran Oil and Jojoba Oil. It has a light watery texture. This cleansing oil can be used safely by oily and combination skin people.
SECOND CLEANSE
Now after using the oil cleanser, I go for my second cleanse which is my trusted BIODERMA SENSIBIO H2O Solution micellaire.
What this does is further cleanse away the remaining makeup residue and dirt off the face. And believe me, you will be surprised how much is still left on our faces and in the pores. It is this remainder of makeup that helps flourish bacteria and germs. Hence you see large zits and acne. That is why double cleansing is so important!!
After using the Micellar water, I sometimes also use makeup cleansing wipes. Nowadays I am trying the NEUTROGENA Deep Clean Makeup Remover Facial wipes. These are pretty good. This particular step I only incorporate IF I have done a full on glam makeup OR if I am feeling extra ? There isn’t any harm in doing this, so why not?
If I have done heavy eye makeup I use an eye makeup remover. NIVEA Natural Fairness Eye Makeup Remover is the one I am using these days. It does the job well and takes off waterproof mascara quite easily too.
GLAMGLOW Daily Clearing Cleanser Mud To Foam I like to use sometimes after I have removed all my makeup. Specially if I am having acne or zits, this really cleans out the pores and clears the skin beautifully. My acne appears smaller and much less angry the next day. This is one of my most favorite products for cleansing and skincare.
TONING
I then use the PIXI Glow Tonic which is not only a toner but a mild glycolic exfoliator. I have talked alot on this toner, and done a dedicated post on this which you can see HERE.
I also like to use the PALMERS COMPLEXION TONER with Beta Hydroxy and Tea Tree Oil. Again, I use this ONLY on days when my skin is feeling stuffy or congested and my skin is suffering from breakouts. This toner tingles a little bit on my trouble areas but at the same time soothes it too.
This toner has key ingredients like Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, Beta Hydroxy and Tea Tree Oil. This also helps in balancing the skin’s tone and texture.
Son & Park Beauty Water I use each and everyday without fail. The bottle is big, it could last easily a good couple of months. This is not only a toner but a cleanser which mildly exfoliates with willow bark and papaya extracts. It has Lavender water, Rose water and Orange fruit Extract.
It has a subtle and refreshing scent. This quickly refreshes the skin.
That’s mostly all what I do for makeup removal. Sometimes I also scrub my lips if there is need. From here on I follow my Nighttime Skin-Care Routine.
After all the cleansing, toning and skin-care its time to hit the sack ?
Hope you liked this post. Let me know what products you guys use for makeup removal?
