Who doesn’t love a matte lipstick in their collection? Mostly women prefer to have matte lipsticks versus glossy ones in their collection. I on the other hand always preferred glossy lipsticks over mattes. I am now warming up to matte lipsticks though I still cringe away from extremely dry and super matte formulas.
I hauled Essence MATT Collection which they introduced for their Fall/Winter 2016 range. I got myself only one Lipstick which is the Essence Wow Effect 03 MATT MATT MATT. Read on to know my thoughts on the product.

PACKAGING
The lipstick comes in a metallic lipstick tube case. The cover of the tube is matte and of the same color that of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and secure. Another good thing is the color of the cap gives of an idea of the lipstick shade, which is quite helpful.

It has a sweet berry like fragrance with no noticeable taste on the lips.

My Thoughts
I am never impressed with Essence Lipsticks apart from their lip liners which are very good quality and long-lasting. But this particular lipstick is pretty good for the price.
The lipstick is a berry-mauve-y toned color with a slight pink under tone. Perfect for fall/winter season.
It has a matte finish and glides on smoothly on the lips. On first application the texture feels quite soft and satiny which dries down to matte finish after some time. The formula is lightweight, non drying and quite comfortable. The color payoff is good and opaque. One can easily build up the coverage without the lipstick getting tacky, crumbly or patchy 🙂 Also it doesn’t bleed or settle in to fine lines of our lips.
Wear time is decent but not very good. It lasts for about 4 to 5 hours on my lips without eating or drinking. After having a proper meal, I noticed my lipstick wearing off from the middle of the lips, while the remaining lipstick was only visible on the outer area of my lips.
I did not experience any dryness or flaking on my lips while wearing this lipstick 🙂
