I had been travelling in the month of June hence the low activity on the blog. I travelled to the Historical and Mystical country of Turkey 🙂 Since I was always on the go there, back-packing, checking out the Historical Palaces of Topkapi and Dolmabahce and other interesting sights and sounds, I packed with me make-up that I could do in a jiffy and owing to the hot weather there, also some products that could brave the humid weather of Istanbul.
In this post I shall be sharing with you lovelies all the products that were helpful in delivering and the ones I reached for almost every single day on the trip.
Let’s get on with it.
SKIN-CARE ITEMS/FACE MAKE-UP PRODUCTS
The following products kept my skin in perfect shape 😉 Plus the make-up products are the ones I kept reaching for most of the trip.
- BIODERMA SENSIBIO H2O
This Make-up removing Micelle solution gets ALL the gunk off of your face in a jiffy. It is so gentle and soothing. God I LOVE this product.
2. NIVEA MATTIFYING TONER
Toning is an essential part of my skin-care regimen. And I like to try different toners. I took this toner with me and my skin felt toned, refined and calm. This toner is very gentle on the skin too.
3. PIXI GLOW TONICÂ
O M G. This toner is EVERYTHING for my skin. It is called the Glow tonic and I kid you lovelies not that it makes my skin look all glow-y and healthy and just beautiful. I don’t know what they put in this, but it really suits my skin. It is an exfoliating toner so whilst toning it also gently exfoliates. And the formula is so subtle that you can use this AM and PM everyday 😀 As traveling can render our skin looking tired and dull, this is where this toner comes in handy. It makes the skin look literally very good.
4. THE BODYSHOP VITAMIN C BOOSTÂ
Unintentionally or intentionally I packed mostly skin care items that would give my travel tired face that much-needed glow 😉 So The Body Shop is one of my all time favourite brands for Skin-care and Body-care. This beauty is such an awesome serum. It’s gel like texture is quick absorbing for the skin. And it also acts as a perfect base for the make-up. And yes with its continous use the skin looks more bright and glow-y. I have been using this for more than a month now.
5. GARNIER BB CREAM
I have already talked about this BB cream in a previous post. It’s an amazing product. And my absolute favourite. You can read all about it HERE.
6. L’OREAL TRUE MATCH POWDER
For quick under eye setting and loosely setting the make-up I used this particular face powder. This was very blend-able and didn’t look powdery or chalky and did not clog my pores too. The formula is just perfect.
7. NARS ORGASM BLUSHÂ
This is my Holy Grail item easily. I am just amazed by this product and its quality. This blush has never failed to impress me. Every-time I use this, I fall more in love with this blush. You can read more about it HERE.
8. the Balm Cosmetics Blush HOT MAMA
Oh Mama. This blush is another gem I found quite recently and loved it instantly 🙂 This blush is a beautiful peach-y gold toned blush which can be worn alone or can be added as a blush topper too. It looks very glow-y and healthy on the skin. I used this on my lids for a pop of shiny radiance and also on my cheeks. LOVE it!
EYE PRODUCTS
- EYE-LASH CURLER
Eyes are the windows to the souls and if those windows are dead tired and open and close at odd hours, believe me they look horrid. I packed this Eye-lash curler for no particular reason as such or let’s just say i added this to my make-up bag as an after thought. But this was the hidden gem for me. I have two boys. And with kids, travelling isn’t easy. Also getting ready quickly where you  look pretty also..hmmm…that’s another story altogether. That is where this Eyelash-Curler came in handy. I only had to use this two to three times on each eye before proceeding on to doing my make-up and my eyes looked wide open and awake. A must have Make-up tool for our eyelashes 😉
2. NUDE/WHITE EYE LINER PENCIL
This is an honourable mention but an important one. I used to use either a nude or a white eye pencil on my lower lid. This also makes the eyes look big and bright.
LIP PRODUCTS
- D O S E OF COLORS KISS OF FIRE
My youngest sister gifted this to me just before I left for my vacations. I am not that big a fan of liquid lipsticks. But I was pleasantly surprised. This particular liquid lipstick is very comfortable on the lips. The colour is a perfect pop of bright red with a hint of orange and also a slight hint of pink. I wore this thrice on my trip and BOY, the admiring looks I got 😉 It truly made me feel sexy 😉 😉 Thank you Noorelle for this <3
2. JORDANA TWIST AND SHINE BALM IN TERA-CRAVE
Another past favourite which is still favourite. This was my everyday colour. I have talked about this in a previous post of mine HERE.
MAKE-UP BRUSHES
I packed with me quite a few make-up brushes and beauty blenders BUT as I had to do my face pretty fast, the following brushes came to my rescue:
- RT EXPERT FACE BRUSH
Excellent. Nothing short of it. I used this brush every day and it was so handy and quick to use. I used this with my BB Cream and it blended it like a dream. You can read more about it HERE.
2. ESSENCE COSMETICS FACE BRUSH
This brush is so genius. I don’t know how much I have used and abused this. But it still delivers and performs. For setting my under eyes, for setting my face with powder, even for contouring or reverse contouring with powder..you name it, and it just does practically everything. It’s a multi-purpose brush 🙂
3. KRYOLAN PROFESSIONAL SHADER ART 1711
This particular brush is with me for the last 7 years and I absolutely adore this brush. I use this to apply my blush and sometimes my contour. This deposits colour perfectly, also at the same time blending the colour in. I like the shape of this brush just perfect for applying cheek colour and contour.
PERFUME
GIORGIO ARMANIÂ Si
This perfume is TRUE LOVE bordering on obsession for me. Okay maybe that is a bit too much. But still I have this crazy attachment with this perfume. It is a unique blend of floral and sexy notes. The staying power is VERY good. It stays on me for a good two days. Very classy and sophisticated. A great perfume to wear in the evenings or night-time. I still remember I was wearing this perfume when I went in THE BODYSHOP store in Istanbul and the salesgirl asked me quickly which perfume I was wearing and I told her the name and she instantly said you smell delicious 🙂 After that she kept coming close to me like NOT in a creepy way but I could tell she was hooked on to this fragrance 😀
MAKE-UP SETTING SPRAYS
- U D all nighter MAKE-UP SETTING SPRAY
I used this spray every single day to lock in my Make-up in place. It’s a very good product. My make-up did not budge or move.
2. NYX DEWY FINISH SETTING SPRAY
For that extra glow all over my face I used this setting spray and I was super happy. This renders the skin such a healthy sexy glow, that the skin looks practically glowing from within. This has become my latest and absolute favourite discovery <3
DANGLING LOCKET
This locket was gifted to me by my best friend Ramla who lives in Germany. I can not begin to tell how beautiful and special this is to me. It is crafted so finely and perfectly. I wore this with every outfit as it complimented them spot on. Thank you Ramla
