I did some major damage to my cash bank while visiting Dubai, this past year 🙂 Hola! my friends. And a very Happy New Year. I have been very much MIA( missing in action ) majorly owing to my health. Before I share my teeny tiny Dubai fashion haul, let me fill you in on a major life update. This past year I suddenly experienced a sharp pain along my left shoulder, which started from my neck and shot down into my fingers. Interestingly, the pain did not stop EVEN after taking an aspirin. This got me worried like crazy.
To cut a long story short, after consulting with two doctors, fighting with my hubby dearest to get an MRI done, I got my worst fear confirmed…I had suffered a cervical slip disc….How cool is that…NOT??? For a split second my world stopped, like literally. I could not comprehend at what had just happened? I had to take in the fact that I had to wear a hard collar 24/7, even while sleeping at night…SPECIALLY while sleeping at night. God!! And that the pain will go away on its own and that I need to be careful now for the REST OF MY LIFE.
Life is cruel BUT it also makes you value it more, specially after such incidents.
I am thankful to Allah. I am alive. This could have been worse too, I don’t even want to go thinking in that direction. Anyways, I am much better now. Sometimes I feel on top of the world as if I never experienced any pain. And then, there are days, like today I am typing all this whilst wearing my 24/7 style companion…MY COLLAR 😉 But life goes on, it never stops or ceases for anyone. So cherish EVERY.SINGLE.MOMENT. of your life and be thankful to whatever God has gifted you with 🙂 I do. More so now then before. You should too ♥
Okay so that was the life update 🙂 Now lets start with the Haul. I am not a very fashion savvy girl. I like to be comfortable and practical. Repeating my outfit more than once doesn’t bother me at all. So whenver I travel abroad, I hardly shop for clothes, though I do look for fabrics or clothes of the local people and if somehow I can incorporate their stuff in my wardrobe, then I do try to buy them.
This time around I bought only two things fashion wise from Dubai which I needed. Honestly, shopping in Dubai is pretty expensive. One really has to weigh in on the wants and needs. And my needs won over and my wants lost out 🙁 But I made up in the Makeup area, there the reign was of the wants 😀
First thing up is the much hyped, raved, used and abused Adidas Supestars
- ADIDAS SUPERSTARS SNEAKERS
I know this ain’t anything special;) but for me it is 🙂 I actually needed one for a very long time. Whenever I went to buy this from my Adidas store, it was ALWAYS sold out. Hence when I saw this sitting so beautifully on the shelf in the sports shop, I got it quickly 😀
These iconic sneakers look great whether you want to look casual, chic or uber cool. The only downside is that it needs A LOT of maintenance 🙁
The second item that I brought was a fleece jacket from the Multinational retailer MARKS and SPENCER
I personally adore the store and the items displayed there. You can find almost everything under one roof. They cater to almost every age of an individual, kids, women, men and elderly people included.
Anyways I grabbed myself a gorgeous berry colored fleece jacket with black zipped pockets on both sides and running down the middle of the jacket.
2. FLEECE JACKET
It is super soft, warm and extremely comfortable. A great investment for super cold months though we seldom get to enjoy the winter season in Karachi, Pakistan 🙁
THAT’S IT. That is all I got on the fashion front from Dubai . Not that exciting, I know, but that’s how I am 🙂 In the area of Makeup I got TONS of stuff. But I shall only be sharing my Dubai Sephora Haul with you guys. So keep an eye out on my next post 😉
