Eid-ul-Adha 2017 came and went by slowly. Why I say this is because on this Eid the excitement fizzles out pretty fast unlike Eid-ul-Fitr 🙂 I say this for a number of reasons. But whatever the reasons may be, I do get decked up and enjoy as after all it is a time of celebration and festivity.
Hence, on this Eid also I decked up and wore a dress which was basically a part of my wedding trousseau that I had not worn for the last 12 years :0 YES! I wore this shalwar kameez in my initial years of marriage, once or twice maybe. But then I forgot all about it and concentrated on new designs and fashions. This year, while cleaning my closet I stumbled upon this beauty and thought Hey! why not try this on and see if I can still fit into this, then maybe I should wear it.
And so without any high expectations of fitting into this dress I tried it on and Voila! it fit me like a glove. There was no turning back, I decided then and there that I would wear this and carry it with confidence. And I am happy that I did 🙂
So here I am sharing with you all some photos that my lovely sister took of me on Eid. Hope you guys like them <3
Ignore my un-dyed salt and pepper hair 😉 didn’t get the time to get them colored 🙁
Let’s talk about my suit 🙂
My suit is off-white in color. It is made of pure silk. It had tilla work done on it. If you look closely you can see pearl, sequins and thread-work woven intricately and finely into the shirt. The length of the shirt is short, as it was fashionable to keep shirts short in those days 🙂 But otherwise the dress was perfect as new.
I paired my dress with matching accessories. I wore dull bronze/gold bangles on one arm and a dull gold dress watch in the other.
For shoes I went with a pretty pair of gold faux gem encrusted sandals, which I adore.
My earrings were bronze gold pearl encrusted small hoops.
I used the following products for my makeup:
- Kiko Cosmetics blush in shade fusion trio blush in 01.
- Laura Mercier matt radiance baked highlighter in shade 01
- MAC Fix plus.
And that was all that I used to acheive this Eid look.
I hope you liked this post.
